In 2016, one of the brightest spots in the printing industry is digital packaging printing. You can shop and select a holiday, get a credit card or bank statement on your laptop, read your daily newspaper and magazine on a tablet or mobile device - but you can't get milk from an iPad! Packaging cannot be substituted by another media channel.

With the market valued at over $10 billion and growing at rates of 14% to 2020, digital packaging is one of the hottest industry sectors around. It's why the equipment suppliers are developing new equipment for cartons, flexibles, rigids and particularly corrugated as shown at drupa. By December, the froth will have settled and the first installs of the equipment at the show will take place, and the real world experience will be shared.
